digital broadcasting initiative

The Digital Broadcasting Initiative (IDR) is concerned with harmonising the transition phase between current analogue radio and television and digital audio broadcast ing ( DAB) and digital television ( DVB). As bottlenecks can occur in the transition phase, especially in terrestrial transmission, for reasons of frequency allocation and use, the digital broadcasting initiative is concerned, among other things, with the use of multi- standard devices, set-top boxes and additional cards for analogue and digital reception.
