Dynamic bend lighting is a driver assistance system. It makes it easier for the driver to find his way on winding roads and provides better visibility. With dynamic bend lighting, objects on or directly next to the road can be detected earlier, which has an effect on road safety.

In principle, dynamic bend lighting works with a headlight that can be swiveled horizontally and is controlled by various driving parameters. These include the steering angle, the driving speed and the yaw rate, which is expressed in terms of the rotation of the vertical axis. All these parameters are evaluated and fed to the actuator that swivels the headlight. Thus, the headlamp is swiveled more when the steering angle is higher than when the steering angle is less.

In contrast to dynamic bend lighting, static bend lighting involves switching an additional headlight on and off.
