The term Early Start Date is a project management term used in the context of the Critical Path Method( CPM).

The Early Start Date is the earliest possible time at which the incomplete parts of a schedule activity can begin. This date is determined by the scheduling network and any timing constraints.

Unlike the Early Start Date, the Early Finish Date is the earliest possible time at which the incomplete portions of a schedule activity can be completed according to the schedule network, date, and all schedule constraints.
