isometry
Isometry is a graphical representation with length equations. This technique is used in 3D graphics to simplify the three-dimensional representation.
The isometric graphic does not know a perspective projection of the vanishing lines, but works with parallel projection. The area units are always the same in this graphical representation, regardless of the angularity. This means that the areas represented in parallel projection do not need to be scaled or distorted. Complicated mathematical algorithms are reduced to a minimum.
The isometric representation is used in computer games to keep development costs and computing times as low as possible.
