logfile analysis
Log files are files in which the processes running in computers and the web pages accessed on the Internet are stored. The data stored in the log files of the web servers provide information about various activities and especially about the usage behavior of the visitors, as the accesses are logged in detail.
Such a log file analysis reveals the visitor's IP address, which browser he uses, on which landing page he entered the website and on which exit page he left it again, from which website the visitor came, on which web pages he stayed and for how long, which keywords he entered in which search engine, which operating system he uses and various other facts.
Logfile statistics can be falsified by multiple users with the same IP address, as well as by proxy servers.
