New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) is a crash test used to test the safety of new vehicles. The results of the NCAP tests are published so that consumers can form a picture of the respective vehicle safety and manufacturers are sufficiently motivated to improve the safety of their vehicles.

The NCAP test has been further developed by the European New Car Assessment Program, Euro NCAP. This program involves European transport ministries, automobile clubs and insurance associations. Euro NCAP conducts crash tests on new cars of the same year. The test results are used to evaluate vehicle safety.

The tests focus on the detection of pedestrians and cyclists and the protection of occupants in side and frontal impacts.
