server system infrastructure (SSI)

The ServerSystem Infrastructure (SSI) is a community of interest to which leading IT companies belong and which is concerned with the standardization of interfaces between PC components.

This includes the interfaces of mainboards, housings and power supplies in the server and workstation environment. The SSI's remit includes the definition of the supply connectors for the motherboard supply.

Members of the SSI community of interest include such well-known companies as Hewlett Packard, Dell, Intel, IBM, Silicon Graphics and others.
