smarter technology extension (STX)
Computer on Module(COM) are available in different sizes and variants; as Single Board Computer( SBC) as well as carrier board with plug-on CPU modules. The STX module is one of many COM variants.
STX modules have a size of 90 x 96 mm, they can be stacked and have shielded SMT connectors. The connector layout is designed so that PC/104 boards can be plugged onto STX boards. The processors used are 80486, but also the Pentium III. The STX technology was developed by the company IBS Industrie-Elektronik in Munich.
