suspend to RAM (ASPI) (STR)
Suspend-to-RAM (STR) mode is a power management mode for personalcomputers.
In this operating mode, power-consuming hardware components such as the hard disks, processor and display are switched to an economy mode after a preset time during which no functional inputs have been made. This state of freezing is a standby mode. Since the working memory is buffered in this mode, only a small amount of residual energy is required for refreshing the working memory and the control functions of the hardware components.
