time-based one time password (TOTP)

When authenticatingusers, security can be increased using one-time passwords, One Time Password( OTP). A further increase in security can be achieved with temporary one-time passwords, Time-Based One Time Password (TOTP).

Time-based passwords only have a temporary existence of a few seconds and then lose their validity.

One-time passwords and TOTP passwords are used in two-factor authentication( 2FA). Here, the user enters a static password and a one-time password or a time-based one-time password (TOTP). When both passwords are confirmed, the authentication is unique. TOTP is a standard of the Internet Engineering Task Force( IETF).
