winsock

Winsock is a standard interface for all IP implementations under Windows. This interface is realized with the help of the program WINSOCK. DLL. Internet applications under Windows, including the Telnet protocol, the File Transfer Protocol( FTP), World Wide Web(WWW), Mosaic and Trumpet with their associated applications require the Winsock interface for their function.
