adaptive tolerant protocol (modem) (ATP)

For the data transmission via modems most different transmission protocols are used, which are often not compatible to each other and via which modems of different manufacturers cannot communicate with each other.

The Adaptive Tolerant Protocol ( ATP) is an adaptation-tolerant protocol that can work with diverse transmission protocols from different manufacturers.

ATP modems with implemented Adaptive Tolerant Protocol adapt the individual connection and transmission phases for the call, connection setup, handshaking, exchange of protocol data with the information for compression and error correction, and the data rate to the respective other protocol.
