compact disc video (CD-V)

The Compact DiscVideo(DC-V) is a compact disc described with Constant Linear Velocity( CLV) and is used to store digital audio combined with analog video. The CD-V is described in the White Book. The CD-V can store up to 74 minutes of video compressed with MPEG-1.

The video CD provides a picture resolution of 352 x 288 pixels at a refresh rate of 30 Hz or 25 Hz. The data rate for video is 1.15 Mbit/s and 224 kbit/s for audio.
