copy control information (DTCP) (CCI)

Copy Control Information(CCI) is a protection when transferring content worthy of protection that is transmitted over networks or stored on storage media.

The user can assign a copy status to the CCI information. He can determine whether the content is free and may be copied (Copy Free) or whether it may be copied once (Copy Once) or not copied at all (Copy Never).

Before the content is transferred over the network, the devices connected to the network must prove their copy status.

Copy Control Information (CCI) is used in Content Protection for Prerecorded Media( CPPM) in DVD-Audio and in DigitalTransmission Copy Protection( DTCP) in MOST-Bus, among others.
