As is already clear from the term electroacoustic system (ELA), these are acoustic systems that use electrical engineering for signal transmission.

An electroacoustic system includes all components that convert sound pressure into electrical signals, detect, process, store and transmit them, and then convert the electrical signal back into sound. The electroacoustic processing chain starts with the microphones that convert the sound into electrical voltages, continues with microphone preamplifiers, amplifiers, mixers, equalizers and other audio effect components, through the power amplifiers to the loudspeakers and the PA systems in 100 V technology.
