fitness tracker

A fitness tracker or activity tracker is an intelligent wristband or computer watch that can be used to determine and track the fitness or activity and health of the person wearing it. Monitoring one's health is intended to encourage the wearer to exercise more, change eating habits, and get more rest.

Fitness trackers can be used for many sporting activities: running, cycling, hiking and swimming. The variety of functions of fitness trackers includes step counters that record the number of stairs climbed, pedometers and distance meters that can measure the distance traveled, calorie counters, and measurement devices for pulse rate, body temperature, blood pressure, skin resistance, and heart rate. Some fitness trackers can also take measurements while you sleep. However, the accuracy of some measurements depends on the person's age, weight, gender and height.

Fitness trackers can have their own display, they can show the readings of the last days and weeks, or even the statistical values and trigger vibration alarms in case of physical overload. The recorded fitness values are transferred to the smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth Low Energy( BLE). A wide variety of apps are available for evaluation.
