foil antenna
Foil antennas are flexible antennas whose antenna elements are printed as conductive structures on transparent foil. They can be shaped as desired and are so flat that they are hardly noticeable. The conductive antenna elements are applied to flexible foils and can be integrated in small mobile devices, tablet PCs, laptops, etc., but especially in motor vehicles.
In terms of frequency, foil antennas, which consist of the conductive antenna elements, an electronic block that can contain a crossover and also an antenna amplifier, and the coaxial cables with the corresponding RF connectors, can cover frequency ranges in the UHF range all the way up to the microwave range at 2.4 GHz.
This means that virtually all services are supported, from digital radio( DAB) to digital TV, mobile communications and mobile Internet, digital traffic broadcasting( TMC), navigation data via the GPS system. Also WLAN applications or ZigBee and mobile WiMAX.
Inautomotive technology, foil antennas can be accommodated in non-conductive car bodies, windows or in exterior mirrors thanks to their flexibility, and in mobile devices in the smallest installation spaces. Spray-on antennas are an even flatter alternative to foil antennas.
