imageLink
Konica Minolta, Nikon, Olympus, Pentax, Ricoh and Sanyo have initiated the direct printing standard ImageLink, which allows digital cameras and color prin ters to be connected directly to each other and digital photos to be printed without the use of computers.
ImageLink has a similar approach to PictBridge, but uses a 26- pin connection cable that can be used not only to transfer data from the digital camera to the printer, but also to transfer audio and video data and charge the digital cameras' batteries.
Data is transferred between the digital camera and printer using Picture Transfer Protocol( PTP). With ImageLink, the digital camera can be attached to the printer or operated in a docking station. Operation takes place via the user interface of the digital camera.
