service oriented business application (SOA) (SOBA)

A Service Oriented Business Application (SOBA) is a collection of loosely coupled web services that are subject to a business purpose and use Service Oriented Architecture(SOA) for efficient adaptation to new business requirements.

The SOBA typically runs on only one application server. For example, it may be an enterprise resource planning( ERP) application that consists of various loosely coupled services. The functional flow can be coordinated by a service orchestration engine( SOE), and communication can be handled via an enterprise service bus( ESB).
