storage adapter (FC) (SA)
A storage adapter( SA) is an adapter that can be used to connect any storage media to a computer. These can be hard disk drives( HDD) or solid state drives( SSD), optical storage devices or memory cards of various types.
A storage adapter can be used to create backups or copy files and transfer data sets from older storage media to newer ones.
Storage adapters are easy to use and are hot-swappable. They display several executed functions, such as the number of targets accessed, the World Wide Name(WWN) of the storage adapter within the Fibre Channel( FC) with which it can be uniquely identified, the Logical Unit Numbers( LUN) of the storage media the SA adapter can access, and several other functions.
