suspend to disk (ACPI) (STD)

The suspend-to-disk(STD) mode is a power managementprogram. In this mode, the running program is interrupted and the data stored in the RAM is saved to the hard disk.

In the suspend-to-disk mode known as hibernation mode, all programs remain in the previous state, which significantly speeds up the startup process when the system is turned back on.

This mode offers some energy-saving potential, especially in portable computers, in laptops and notebooks, because it switches directly from the economy mode to the application programs.
