wavelength blocker (ON) (WB)

Wavelength Blockers(WB) are filter components used in optical networks that can block entire frequency bands such as the C-band, L-band, or multiple wavelengths.

Wavelength blockers are used in configurable optical add/drop multiplexers( OADM) and can attenuate or block transmitted wavelengths to any level. Used in DWDM systems, wavelength blockers can have a channel spacing of 50 GHz or 100 GHz and can block individual channels of the DWDM multiplexers. Remotely configurable Wavelength Blockers can be centrally reconfigured for other wavelengths and adjusted in power level to meet requirements.
