EP connector
The EP plug is used as a loudspeaker plug in powerful sound reinforcement systems. It is a four- or eight-pole plug system with a metallic throw-over ring.
The plug contacts are unbalanced and are separate for treble and bass speakers and cannot be interchanged. A groove and the unbalanced contact arrangement prevent the EP plug from twisting, and a locking mechanism ensures that the plug does not come loose during operation. In the eight-pole version, separate four-way systems can be connected.
