IoTivity

IoTivity is an open-source framework for machine-to-machine (M2) communication that meets the increasing demands of the Internet of Things( IoT). It was developed by the Open Interconnect Consortium( OIC), whose member companies include Samsung and Intel, and supports operating system-independentprogramming interfaces.

Companies and individuals can participate in the IoTrivity project and thus influence the OIC standardization. The goal is to develop a new standard that will allow millions of wired and wireless devices, both simple unintelligent and smart devices, to be connected to each other over the Internet. IoTivity uses the Constrained Application Protocol( CoAP) as its application protocol and the Concise Binary Object Representation ( CBOR) based on the JavaScript Object Notation( JSON) as its data format.
