Microsoft's Windows Live Messenger (WLM) evolved from MSN Messenger and was integrated into Skype in 2013. Windows Live Messenger is a freeware for instant messaging. Like its predecessor, Live Messenger supports online contact with acquaintances and friends, the exchange of text messages, file transfer and the transfer of images in real time. In addition, Windows Live Messenger offers telephone calls, video telephony between two communication partners and also video conferencing.
The contact to the communication partners is established via a contact list with the names and connection data of all friends and acquaintances via mouse click. Video communication only requires a headset and a webcam.
Windows Live Messenger can record the course of the conversation with times and participants.
