Advanced Stream Redirector (ASX) is a file format for streaming media - streaming video and audio - over the Internet.

The ASX format is supported by Windows Media Player for streaming audio and video. ASX is a simple text file that contains server and media information. It contains the address of a streaming file, such as an ASF file, and describes what to do with that file.
