change control system (PM)

The Change Control System is a project management term. It describes the procedure of how changes to deliverables and documentation are implemented, managed and controlled.

The goal of the Change Control System is to ensure that changes are not carried out arbitrarily, but are carefullyreviewed and signed off by a responsible employee. It is not about the decision to approve, reject and postpone changes, which is made by the Change Control Board( CCB), but about procedural issues and procedures. The change control system is based on a type of change control policy in which the procedural issues are documented.
