compact fluorescent radio lamp (CFR)

A Compact Fluorescent Radio Lamp(CFR) is a comapted fluorescent tube.

CFR lamps differ from energy-saving lamps( CFL) in that they have a built-in radio receiver that can be used to control them. Used in smart homes, CFR lamps can be switched on and off and their brightness controlled via a WiFi. This technology was also used for Visible Light Communication( VLC) in the early years. In this VLC technology, light-emitting diodes are predominantly used because of the high switching speed.
