data aggregation point (smart grid) (DAP)

Data Aggregation Points(DAPs) are concentration points in smart grids that collect metering data from many Advanced Metering Infrastructure ( AMI) systems distributed over wide geographic areas.

The distributed DAP points allow the electricity demand determined by the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) to be allocated geographically. The captured metered values can be stored and processed in the Data Aggregation Points and are transmitted to the central Meter Data Management( MDM). The AMI metered values can be used in Demand Side Management( DSM) for demand-based consumption control.
