mini MAP

Mini-MAP is a special version of the Manufacturing Automation Protocol (MAP) consisting only of the physical layer, the link layer and the application layer. This version is characterized by the fact that it is cheaper and faster for use in process control. Mini-MAP can only be implemented in very simple devices, such as smart sensors, because they lack the necessary protocols and operate with an address world that is reduced to a production area.
