remote write protocol (Internet) (RWP)

The Remote Write Protocol (RWP) is a protocol described in RFC 1756 from 1995 with which short messages can be exchanged between communicating terminals over the Internet.

With the RWP protocol, one user can write messages on another user's terminal. The RWP protocol uses the TCP protocol and the UDP protocol as transport protocols. When communicating via the TCP protocol, the sending station transmits the name of the target person, the name of the person who wants to write the message and the subject, followed by the message content.
