secondary data packet (DisplayPort) (SDP)

A characteristic of the DisplayPort is the packet-oriented data transmission. In addition to the main data stream, there is also the data stream with the secondary data packets, Secondary Data Packet( SDP).

In this data stream, data for the audio stream, timing information, the pixel clock, information about the color space and the image format are transmitted. The secondary data is transmitted in the blanking intervals of the main signal.
