DVB multipoint distribution satellite (DVB-MS)

DVB Multipoint Distribution Satellite (DVB- MS) is a terrestrial DVB variant that transmits TV signals from a central converter to the receiving equipment via microwave. DVB-MS operates on line-of-sight( LOS) only and can bundle multiple TV channels over a microwave link. Transmission occurs at frequencies above 10 GHz. The DVB-MS concept has the advantage that the satellite signals are converted from DVB-S and can be received with simple receiving equipment, instead of the larger parabolic antennas.
