On-Screen-Display (OSD) is a technology where the operating, status and additional information is displayed directly on the screen. This technology is used in television sets, computer games, digital cameras, video cameras and many other devices with displays.
In on-screen display, status indicators, operating functions, information, commands and data lists are displayed in menu formon the TV screen or superimposed on the projection image. When watching TV, the menu includes all the functions of the TV set that can be controlled and programmed via the remote control. For example, the brightness, contrast, color tone, connected sources, picture width formats, etc. But also the electronic program guide, teletext and the settings for satellite or cable reception.
