time triggered protocol SAE class C (TTP/C)

TTP/C(Time Triggered Protocol SAE Class C) is a fault-tolerant field bus based on the TTP protocol that is used in automotive technology for the transmission of safety-relevant information and meets the specifications of SAE Class "C".

In such a fault-tolerant data bus, the bus components receive guaranteed transmission access at a defined time via a deterministic access procedure. One such access method is Time Division Multiple Access ( TDMA). Furthermore, such field buses are redundant and can switch to another channel or a second cable if one channel fails. Further error handling is performed by the protocol used. The TTP/C bus is used in motor vehicles, railroad and aircraft technology, among others, and competes with FlexRay.
