Internet protocol support profile (Bluetooth 4.1) (IPSP)

The Internet Protocol Support Profile (IPSP) is a Bluetooth protocol with which nodes and routers that support the IPSP profiles can communicate with other IPSP devices.

TheIPSP profile defines the functions of the nodes and routers, whereby a node can generate data packets according to IPv6 and implement the payload. The routers can route IPv6 packets. Bluetooth devices that support IPSP communicate using IPv6 packets over Bluetooth Low Energy( BLE). A connection to the Internet of Things ( IoT) can be realized via the IPSP profile.

The IPSP protocol stack knows the Generic Attribute Profile( GATT) and the Attribute Protocol( ATT), which locate services. In contrast, the Generic Access Profile( GAP) is used for device discovery and connection establishment.
