Modacom service

Different connection topologies can be realized in the Modacom service: Point-to-point connections and also point-to-multipoint connections. Besides, Modacom offers dialed and fixed virtual connection( SVC, PVC). Three types of connection are distinguished, which are called type.

Type 1 is a single connection for interactive communication between terminals. This connection is called two-way messaging and is initiated by the terminal. The second connection type is a dialed virtual connection in Datex-P between a host and a mobile terminal. This connection type is initiated by the host.

The third connection type establishes a logical channel between a host and a group of mobile terminals. This type is called a fleet connection, in which a group call is also available as a feature. Fleet connections can be fixed virtual connections or dialed virtual connections. The fixed virtual connections are activated when the mobile station is switched on, the dialed ones are initiated from the host. In addition to the individual call, a group call is also available in the fleet connection. The group is characterized by a common group address. When sending messagesto a group, all group members receive the same message. Acknowledgement of receipt to the host is not provided in this operating mode.

The connection setup toX.25 networks is 1 second to 2 seconds. The response time behavior is 1 second to 3 seconds.
