The clicktag is a tracking code for Flash banners. In order for ad servers to register clicks on the Flash banner, the Clicktag variable must be specified in the frame action.

The clicktag is assigned to the individual banners by the ad server. The click tag indicates the Internet address of the web page. It is the Internet address of the banner ad that was activated with a click. From the number of clicks and page impressions, the click rate can be derived, which is transmitted to the advertising server to determine the advertising effectiveness.

There are no standardized rules on how to program a Clicktag, ClickTAG or ClickTag. The code for programming is application-dependent, so programmers format clicktags differently.
